She's known for her kooky sartorial displays on the red carpet.
And
Katy Perry was no different when it came to the style stakes on Sunday
in New York as she stepped out in an oriental inspired
coords while attending a pre-MET gala dinner hosted by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The
35-year-old Californian singer - who is co-chairing this year's MET
gala with Anna - captured the attention of the fashion police as she
sauntered to the exclusive evening in her adorable geometric two-piece.
Her Cheongsam inspired jacket featured
black pipping and three-quarter length sleeves with flirty beige feather
detail that draped over her forearms.
Matching
her eye-catching silk top, the Chained to the Rhythm hitmaker slipped
on a pair of high-waisted trousers in the same blue, grey and beige
pattern.
Katy's fashion forward pants mimicked the
chic jacket with black feather detail around the ankles which
highlighted her slender pins.
Accentuating her petite frame, she teetered to the event in a pair of patent leather heels with triangle detail.
The 13-time Grammy nominee accessorised
her attention-grabbing attire with a red lunchbox inspired handbag with
Japanese imagery projected on the front.
Working
her new shorter crop, she worked a vibrant red lip and electric blue
winged eyeliner which highlighted her statement drop earrings as she
joined Gisele Bundchen, Tom Brady, Pharrell Williams, and Roger Federer
at the dinner.
Her fashionable display
comes after she arrived in New York on Saturday on the promotional trail
for her new song Bon Appétit featuring Migos from her upcoming fourth
studio album.
In celebration of the release, she
appeared in Times Square hanging out the window of a food truck dishing
out freshly baked cherry pie to fans.
Promoting her new single, the star happily posed with fans and signed autographs on the boxed desserts.
In
March, Katy - who split with Orlando Bloom last month - debut her new
shorter 'do with her help of her hair team - Chris McMillan, Justin
Anderson, and Melinda Miller-Rider.
great recap!
